LEXINGTON, Ky. — Behind threerecord-breaking performances, theKentucky women’s swimming and divingteam posted a 147-89 dual meet victoryover Cincinnati at the Lancaster AquaticCenter, Saturday.

Senior All-American Leigh Dalton finishedher final home as a UK swimmer in style,setting an Aquatic Center record in the 1000freestyle with a first-place time of 9:57.27.Annabel Kosten set a school record in the50 freestyle, winning the event in a time of23.27, while Emily Grass set a school recordin the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.38. The UK men weren’t asfortunate, dropping a 126.5-110.5 decision to the Cincinnati men. Nat Lewisled the Wildcats with victories in the 500 and 1000 freestyles, with times of4:30.08 and 9:07.97, respectively. In addition, to their record times, Daltonand Kosten each posted a second win. Dalton won the 500 freestyle in5:00.52, while Kosten won the 100 free in 50.87. Rachel Komisarz andMelissa Olson also each won two events.

Komisarz took first in the 200 freestyle and 200 butterfly, with respectivetimes of 1:49.28 and 1:59.21. Olson won the 400 individual medley and the200 backstroke, with times of 4:20.07 and 2:03.30, respectively. DiverChristy Soulakis added a win on the platform, while senior Beth Leake wonthe one-meter competition. The UK men got a pair of wins from senior PacoRivera on the platform and one-meter springboard, while David Tweedieposted a win in the 200 freestyle. Next up for the Wildcats is a trip toGainesville, Fla., for the 1998 Southeastern Conference Swimming andDiving Championships, Feb. 15-21.
