Wildcat track competes in Reebok Invitational May 22.
ATHENS, Ga. (May 16, 1999) — The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s trackteams finished tenth and ninth, respectively, at the 1999 SoutheasternConference Championships in Athens, Ga. this weekend.
Sophomore Jeff Ellis won the 400m hurdles on Sunday with a time of 49.96,which marks a personal best for Ellis.
Sophomore Ola Sesay finished second in the long jump with a jump of6.30m. Junior Matt Kavanagh finished second in the hammer throw finalswith a distance of 65.10m.
UK freshman Temitayo Adeagbo finished eighth with a time of 4281 pointsin the heptathlon competition, while sophomore Michelle Williams finishedninth in the event with 4141 points.
The Cats are back in action on Saturday, May 22, when they participate inthe Georgia Tech/Reebok Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
