Lexington, Ky — Behind a record-settingperformance from the 200 freestyle relaysquad, the Kentucky women’s swimming &diving team posted a 142-97 win overSoutheastern Conference rival LSU at theLancaster Aquatics Center on Friday.

With the win, the 19th-ranked UK women’steam improved its dual meet record to 10-1.

Jaime Siegele, Rachel Komisarz, JennyPriester and Annabel Kosten teamed toregister a time of 1:26.88 to win the 200freestyle relay, breaking the school andLancaster Aquatics Center records by more than six seconds. The time alsoeclipsed the NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:31.93. Leigh Dalton ledthe UK women’s team with two wins, claiming first place in the 500 and1000 freestyles with times of 5:00.80 and 10:03.94, respectively. Komisarzadded a win in the 200 freestyle, while Priester won the 50 freestyle andKosten won the 100 freestyle. Ellen Strange won the 200 butterfly, MelissaOlson won the 200 backstroke and Emily Grass won the 200 breaststroketo close out the list of UK individual champions. Despite wins from NatLewis in three events, the UK men fell just short, dropping a 127-115decision to the LSU men’s team. Lewis won the 200, 500 and 1000freestyles, while teammate Brian Plitnick won the 200 individual medley and200 backstroke. Jarrod Rush won the 50 freestyle and Todd DeSorbo wonthe 200 butterfly for the UK men. Senior Paco Rivera led the UK divers,winning the three-meter event. The UK swimming & diving teams return toaction on Jan. 31, as the Wildcats play host to Cincinnati at the LancasterAquatics Center.
