First game of Southeastern Conference proves to be a tough one.
(September 11, 1998) — The University of Kentucky womens soccer team was defeated by Alabama,1-0, in its first Southeastern Conference match-up of the season on Fridaynight at the UK Soccer Complex.
After a scoreless first half, Alabamas Christine Miller landed a shot off acorner kick in the 74th minute. Despite 21 shots on goal for the game, theWildcats were unable to put one in the net. With the loss, UK falls to 1-1-1(0-1-0 SEC), while Alabama improves to 1-3-0 (1-0-0 SEC).
The Cats next see action on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kentucky kicks off againstAuburn at home at 1:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised live on FoxSports South.
