LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska midfielder Kari Uppinghouse scored twice tolead the ninth-ranked Huskers to a 3-0 win over the University of Kentuckywomen’s soccer team Sunday. It was the eighth straight shut-out win for theHuskers.

Uppinghouse put Nebraska ahead 20 minutes into the game when her 25-yardshot got past UK goalkeeper Carrie Kuhnell to give the Huskers a 1-0 lead.She scored again five minutes into the second half off an assist from KimEngesser to put Nebraska up 2-0. Lindsay Eddleman gave the Huskers thefinal margin three minutes from full time, scoring from inside the 18-yard box togive Nebraska the 3-0 win.

“This was a tough loss,” Kentucky head coach Warren Lipka said. “We haveto go out in practice this week and get ready to play two conference gamesnext weekend.”

UK (5-8-1, 3-1 SEC) continues a four-game road trip next weekend as theytravel to Mississippi to face Mississippi State on Friday and Ole Miss onSunday. Mississippi State (10-2-1, 2-2) has won six of their last seven games,allowing just four goals in that span, while Ole Miss (8-5, 2-2) has won twostraight by a combined score of 9-2.
