The No. 2 University of Kentucky rifle team defeated 14 teams to win the1996 University of Kentucky Invitational Tournament Sunday at the BuellArmory in Lexington, Ky. Kentucky scored 4642 points in the small boreand 1538 in the air rifle for a total of 6180.

Kentucky’s Owen Blakemore and Mary Elsass tied for top individual smallbore honors with 1168 points. Elsass also took top honors in the air rifle with392 points.

Kentucky’s next match will be Dec. 7 in Morgantown, W.Va., againstcurrent – No.1 West Virginia.
