Wildcat’s guilty of scoring on own goal.

FULLERTON, Calif. (Sept. 7, 1998) — The University of Kentucky men’s soccer teamdropped a heartbreaker in the finale of the FILA Soccer Classic in Fullerton,Calif., falling to the University of San Diego 1-0 late Sunday. A University ofKentucky own-goal in the 60th minute was the game’s only tally, as the Catsfell to 0-3-0.

The Cats could mount little offense, as UK was outshot by the Toreros17-7.

USD (1-2-0) also held a 9-2 corner kick advantage. Facing USD’s barrageof offense, UK goalkeeper Chris West tallied eight saves in the loss. TheUniversity of Kentucky will look for its first win on Friday, September 11,when it travels to Greensboro, N.C., to take on UNC Greensboro in theGreensboro Classic at 7 p.m.
