GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Murriel Page scored 25 points and grabbed11 rebounds and No. 12 Florida used a smothering full-court press to beatKentucky 100-58 Sunday, ending the Wildcats’ seven-game winning streak.

The Gators (9-3, 2-0) scored 10 straight points in less than two minutesearly in the second half for a 63-39 lead and effectively put the game out ofreach.

Kentucky (8-5, 1-1) never threatened after that, and Florida used another16-3 run to pull away. It was the first time the Florida women scored 100points since 1995.

The Gators’ press led to several easy baskets, as they had 17 steals, 23assists and forced the Wildcats into 30 turnovers.

Tiffany Travis added 21 points for Florida and Talatha Bingham scored 18.Kentucky was led by Jaye Barnes with 20.

Barnes was the only weapon for the Wildcats in the early going, scoring nineof their first 10 points.

Kentucky opened the game with a fast-break offense and a pressingdefense, but the plan backfired. The Wildcats tired and they were forced toabandon the style less than seven minutes into the game. By that time, theGators had a 22-10 lead.
