Kristin Connolly becomes the seventh member of the 2000 basketball recruiting class.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 4, 2000) — The University of Kentuckywomen’s basketball program added its seventhnewcomer with the signing of Kristin Connolly, CoachBernadette Mattox announced today.
Connolly, a 5-10 shooting guard, hails from MercerIsland, Wash., where she averaged 19.4 points, 3.6assists and 3.2 steals per game at Mercer IslandHigh School. She scored 20-plus points in 12 gamesas a senior and broke the school record by scoring aseason-high 447 points. She finished her career asthe fourth-leading scorer in school history with over1,000 points.
The four-year starter was a two-time Player of theYear and first-team All-Conference selection. She waselected team captain and Most Valuable Player byher teammates as a junior and senior and was theSeattle Times Star of Month. She also was namedMVP of the Kingco Conference.
Connolly joins Se Se Helm, Stephanie Stoglin,Dasieka Hawthorne, Shambrica Jones, AlveneMendeng and Danyelle Payne in the 2000 recruitingclass.
