Interior work on the suites (cabinets, counters, sinks, etc.) has begun. Both scoreboards and video boards have been installed. Preparation work has begun for laying asphalt on the lower concourse.
Both ends of Commonwealth Stadium are being enclosed. The project will add about 10,000 seats, bringing capacity to approximately 68,000. Up to $27.6 million may be spent on the stadium expansion.
Watch the Stadium Construction: Fans may view photographs of the stadium expansion on the internet site www.uky.edu/stadium. A camera has been mounted in the press box and is pointed toward the west (Nicholasville Road) end zone. Photographs are updated every five minutes.
John Soward of UK Computing Services handled the technical details of the stadium camera, with assistance provided by Russ Pear, UK Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities, and Chuck Ham of the UK Public Relations Office.
