LEXINGTON, Ky. – The NCAA announced today that the University of Kentucky has received a bid to the 2000 NCAA Team Championships and will take on the Indiana Hoosiers in Champaign, Ill., on Saturday in first round action.

“Our season has been a bit of a disappointment with many close losses to highly ranked teams,” Coach Dennis Emery said. “But we have continued to improve throughout the season and look forward to the opportunity to prove ourselves in post season play.”

The Cats defeated the Hoosiers earlier this season, 5-2. Kentucky has earned a 12-14 record this season, going 4-7 in league play.

Kentucky’s bid is its 10th appearance in the past 14 years and its fifth straight. At last year’s Championships, Kentucky advanced to the final 16.
