LEXINGTON, Kty.Jamaal Magloire picked up six team awards and Tayshaun Prince was named the team’s Most Outstanding Player at the Wildcats’ private banquet held April 12 at the Hyatt in downtown Lexington. The awards were selected by the coaching staff and presented by Coach Tubby Smith.

Magloire, a first-team All-Southeastern Conference pick, shared the Leadership Award with fellow senior Steve Masiello, and also earned honors for Best Defensive Player, Mr. Deflection, Best Rebounder, Best Field Goal Percentage and Best Individual Workout, an award he shared with Saul Smith. Prince, who hit clutch shots throughout the season, finished as the team’s leading scorer in earning his plaque.

Smith picked up four awards, including Best Playmaker after leading the team in assists, and J.P. Blevins earned four awards as well, including Student-Athlete of the Year. Marvin Stone was named the team’s Most Courageous for his continuing efforts despite playing with a broken thumb.
