CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. – Senior Ron Layman shot a 149 in the first tworounds of the El Diablo Intercollegiate on Monday, tying him for fifthplace. Layman shot a 73 in the first round and a 76 in the second to leadthe Cats to sixth place after two rounds.

Two other Wildcats are also in the top 20 after two rounds. JuniorWes Furnish shot a 151 and freshman Andy Dustman shot a 154, earning them12th and 19th place respectively. Junior Pat Kelly also contributed to theteam score, shooting a 161 and tying him for 43rd place after two rounds.

No. 26 Baylor University leads the team competition with 588strokes in two rounds. Baylor’s Brandon Sanders leads the individualcompetition, shooting a 144 in two rounds.

The final round of the tournament begins Tuesday morning.
