LEXINGTON, Kty. — The No. 40 doubles team of Johan Hesoun and Gustav Pousette defeated Milan Rakvica and Rahman Smiley of Indiana on Sunday in the final day of the Indiana Winter Invitational, 8-6. Pousette and Hesoun also won their singles matches in Sunday’s action.

In singles action, Hesoun, who is ranked No. 48 in the nation, defeated Gabriel Montilla of Indiana in three sets. After dropping the first, 3-6, Hesoun won the second, 6-1. The third set was forced to tiebreaker, but Hesoun finished victorious, winning 7-6.

In other singles matches, Pousette beat Ian Arons of Indiana, 6-3, 6-4. The Cats only other singles victory came when Reven Stephens defeated Brendan Storey of Indiana, 6-1, 6-2.

“The guys got in some good matches this weekend,” Coach Dennis Emery said. “We competed against good opponents, and we were pretty successful.”

The Cats will compete next against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., on Feb. 8.
