LEXINGTON, Kty. — The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team recently released its upcomingspring 2000 schedule. Included in what is probably the toughest slate incollege tennis this season, the Wildcats are scheduled to face at least 14 ofthe nation?s top 25 teams.

The Cats are already set to square-off with eight top-10 teams, includingtop-ranked UCLA in Louisville, No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Duke in the opening round ofthe National Team Indoor Championships and No. 8 Georgia. Highlighting the schedule is the match-up with the No. 1 team in the nation,UCLA, on Feb. 22, two-days before the start of the National Team Indoors. TheCats also have exciting night matches in Lexington at the Boone Tennis Complexagainst the defending NCAA Champion Georgia on March 31 and the defending SECChampion LSU on April 14.

The Cats will also host No. 9 Tennessee, defending Big 10 Champion tenth-rankedIllinois, No. 15 South Carolina, No. 24 Auburn and the 25th ranked HarvardCrimson who are the defending Ivy League Champion.The schedule gets underway for the Cats on Jan. 20-22 at the highly-competitiveSEC Indoor Championships to be held at the University of Alabama.
