LEXINGTON, Kty. — Allison Peppers, a senior defender for the University of Kentucky women’ssoccer team, was named second-team All-America, the National Soccer CoachesAssociation of America announced Friday. She is the program’s firstAll-American at UK since its inception in 1992.
“We are real excited that Allison is our first All-American here atKentucky,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “We’re happy for her to end hercollege career on such a high note.”
Peppers, a native of West Chester, Ohio, played sweeper for the Cats andwas a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection after starting all21 games this season. During her four-year career, Peppers started 84 of 85games and ranks second in school history in games started. This season, shetook three shots and tallied four assists, finishing her career with threegoals and 10 assists.
On Thursday, Peppers was named first-team Great Lakes Region All-Americanby the NSCAA. She was a Great Lakes All-Region selection in 1997 and 1998.In 1998, she was named to the SEC All-Tournament team.
