Allison Peppers is the first All-American soccer player at UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 3, 1999) — Allison Peppers, a seniordefender for the University of Kentucky women’ssoccer team, was named second-teamAll-America, the National Soccer CoachesAssociation of America announced Friday. She isthe program’s first All-American at UK since itsinception in 1992.

“We are real excited that Allison is our firstAll-American here at Kentucky,” UK coachWarren Lipka said. “We’re happy for her to endher college career on such a high note.”

Peppers, a native of West Chester, Ohio, playedsweeper for the Cats and was a first-teamAll-Southeastern Conference selection after startingall 21 games this season. During her four-yearcareer, Peppers started 84 of 85 games and rankssecond in school history in games started. Thisseason, she took three shots and tallied four assists,finishing her career with three goals and 10 assists.

On Thursday, Peppers was named first-team GreatLakes Region All-American by the NSCAA. Shewas a Great Lakes All-Region selection in 1997and 1998. In 1998, she was named to the SECAll-Tournament team.
