Barnhorst, Weiskircher named Academic All-District.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Tuesday, UK middle blocker April Barnhorst was named to the GTE Academic All-District IV First Team for her exemplary work on the court and in the classroom.

Barnhorst, a native of Greenwood, Ind., has a 4.0 GPA in her sophomore year and is among the Southeastern Conference block leaders for matches played within the conference. Barnhorst is undecided on a major.

Being named to the Academic All-District Second Team was Megan Weiskircher. A junior from Houston, Texas, Weiskircher holds a 3.90 GPA and is majoring in Human Nutrition.

With her first team selection, Barnhorst will be placed on the ballot for the GTE Academic All-American Team.
