LEXINGTON, Kty. — The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will conductits first exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in MemorialColiseum against EOS Malbas, a Sweden exhibition team.

The Swedish team is in its third year of existence and iscurrently ranked first in Sweden. Nearing the midway point of itseight-game tour of the United States, the team is 0-3 having lost toWestern Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Tennessee Tech.

The Cats are coming off a 21-win season in 1998-99 and theirfirst NCAA Tournament appearance in eight years. With all five startersreturning, fifth-year coach Bernadette Mattox is looking forward toseeing her team take the floor.

“We’ve been working extremely hard in practice and I am anxiousto see how our team plays against other competition,” Mattox said.”This year, we won’t be able to sneak up on anyone so we have to beready to play every time we hit the floor.”

UK will also play host to its second exhibition game on Saturdaynight, Nov. 13, in Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. against Premier PlayersSelect. Admission is free for both games.
