ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Kentucky men?s tennis team will hit the courtstomorrow at the Region III Men?s Tennis Championships on the University ofGeorgia campus. The top five UK players all qualified for the event, which isthe last event of the fall season for the Wildcats. The tournament willtake place at UGA’s Dan Magill Tennis Complex, the annual site of the NCAAMen’s Tennis Championships in May.

Leading the way in singles play for the Cats is Carlos Drada — the tourney?sfifth seed and 27th ranked player in the nation. Senior Johan Hesoun, 54th inthe nation, is seeded ninth and also seeded in the top 32 is Edo Bawono, No. 82in the nation. Also playing well for the Cats heading into the tournament isJohan Grunditz, a winner of his last three matches, and Gustav Pousette, awinner of three out of four.

Of the five UK competitors, only Grunditz has a match in Thursday?s first roundas the other four players received a bye in the first round. Grunditz will playMichael Lang of Miami (Fla.) at 9 a.m. ET. If he advances, all five Cat playerswill play on Thursday afternoon.
