LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men?s cross country team placed sixth in the 1999 SEC Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. The women finished 12th.
Five freshmen competed in the race for Kentucky with Hunter Spencer once again leading the Cats, followed very closely by teammate Thomas Morgan. Spencer finished 29th with a time of 26:26.1, his second fastest time this season. Morgan came in 30th, finishing just five-tenths of a second behind Spencer.
Other UK men finishers include Kevin O?Connor (39th), Nate Hensley (43rd) and Kevin Panke (58th).
In women?s action, junior Liz Attig led the Wildcat pack, finishing 45th with a time of 19:33.7. Freshman Marie Patton finished 56th with a time of 20:08.0.
Team Arkansas won both the men and women?s titles this year. This was the 25th consecutive conference title for the Razorback men.
