The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team hits the road for itstoughest test of the season on Wednesday, as the Soccer Cats travel toBloomington to tackle the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers.
UK is riding a six-match unbeaten streak and has given up just two goalsin its last six matches, but will face a stern challenge from IU.
“This will be a tough test for our team,” UK Coach Ian Collins said. “Toplay on the road against the nation’s No. 1 team in a mid-week match isjust about as difficult as it gets. But our guys have played well of lateand we’re looking forward to the opportunity.”
The Hoosiers, ranked No. 1 by Soccer America, are on a 10-match win streakand have not given up a goal in four contests.
IU leads the all-time series against the Cats 5-1, including a 5-0 winlast season in Lexington. UK’s lone victory came in 1995, a 1-0 upset inBloomington.
