LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Kentucky junior Wes Furnish leads the fieldafterthe opening round of the University of Louisville Intercollegiate after postinga career-best round of 69 on Monday.

While Furnish had several times posted scores of 70 in the past, he had neverbroken the 70-barrier in his college career. Only one other Cat has broken 70this season, freshman Andy Dustman, who posted a 69 on Oct. 11.Furnish paced the Cats as the team recorded a one round total of 304 on Mondayputting the team in seventh place heading into the tournament?s final day.

Morehead State leads the team competition with a 294. The Cats will try toimprove their standing as they tee off for the final round on Tuesday morning.
