CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Lady Kat golf team finished their first round of the 1999 FranklinStreet Trust Tar Heel Invitational Friday in Chapel Hill, N.C., in 13thplace. Defending team champion Duke University is in first place aftershooting a team total of 304 on the first day. Defending individualchampion Candy Hannemann of Duke shot an even-par 72 to start the tournament.

Freshman Rachel Lester is tied for 27th place after one round, shooting a7-over-par 79. Other UK scores include sophomore Towa Okiyama?s 81 andjunior Jenny Throgmorton?s 88. Senior Jenny Dugan and freshman KellyAnders are tied in 50th place, both shooting an 83 in the first round.

Competition will resume Saturday at noon at the Governors Club in ChapelHill.
