LEXINGTON, Ky. — The 21st-ranked University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will face SanDiego State on Sunday, Oct. 3, in Las Vegas, Nev. on the campus of UNLV.The match will begin at 3 p.m. (EST).
Late Friday night, the Cats (7-2-1) picked up their sixth straight victorywhen they defeated host UNLV 1-0. Freshman Keri Boyce scored her sixth goalof the season in the 74th minute of play to give UK the win. Sophomoregoalkeeper Beth Wells pitched the shutout for the Cats.
“We learned some things in the UNLV game that are going to get us ready toplay against San Diego State on Sunday,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “Thisis going to be a battle, so we need to be ready to go as soon as the matchbegins. Nothing is going to come easy for us against them”
The Aztecs (7-3) are coming off a 3-0 victory over Montana Friday night.SDSU has defeated UC Santa Barbara, Long Beach State, George Washington,Oklahoma, Cincinnati, and Loyola Marymount this season.
