LEXINGTON, Ky. – The first lottery for student tickets to men’s basketball games will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, 1999 at 9 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum, the University of Kentucky Athletics Association announced today. Originally, the lottery was scheduled for Oct. 4, but the printed tickets are not yet available.
All other lottery dates throughout the season have been moved to Monday nights at 9 p.m. in the Coliseum. Previously, the lotteries had been scheduled for Tuesday nights, but game placement necessitated a change, according to UK Assistant Athletics Director Alvis Johnson.
Students must adhere to the following guidelines to receive tickets via the lottery:
? Students must be at the Coliseum by 9 p.m. on Monday nights. There is no advantage being first in line or last, but if you choose to sit with a particular person(s), please enter with that person(s),
? Students will receive a number when entering the Coliseum. At 9:15 p.m., the doors will close and random groups of students will be called down to the floor in numeric order to purchase seats. Tickets are $5 and students must present valid UK identification cards at the time of purchase,
? Following the Monday lottery distribution, two tickets can be purchased on a first come, first served basis beginning Tuesday to all students with a valid ID and one additional full-time UK student ID. Also on Tuesdays, tickets can be purchased at three locations – Memorial Coliseum, the Commonwealth Stadium ticket office and the Commons area. On Wednesday, tickets will only be available at Memorial Coliseum.
