LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team scored an impressive 4-1victory over the 12th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs Sunday afternoon at the UKSoccer Complex.

The Cats, ranked fourth in the Great Lakes Region, looked more like the12th-ranked team nationally, outshooting the Bulldogs 15-5. Led by forwardsAnnie Gage and Elizabeth Ramsey, UK captured its fifth straight victory ofthe season. Gage netted two goals while Ramsey tallied a trio of assists.

UK (6-2-1, 3-1) found itself behind early in the match when UGA’sCatherine Holder went one-on-one with UK goalkeeper Jo Fletcher and put theball in the left corner of the net at the 4:13 mark. However, the Cats wereimpressive in battling back, taking control of the final 85 minutes of play.

Junior Jaime Dellbringge scored her second goal in her second consecutivestart of the season off an assist from Ramsey at the 26:22 mark. UGAgoalkeeper Nicole Williams came out of the goal to try and stop the ballbut Dellbringge put the ball into the empty net, tying the game at one goalapiece.

Just before halftime, Gage broke the tie when she fired a shot high thatsailed over the outstretched hands of Williams.

Keri Boyce scored her fifth goal of the season when she put back a ballthat Williams deflected. Ramsey and Melinda Buemi were each credited withan assist on the play.

Gage rounded out the scoring for UK when she scored her second goal of thegame. Gage’s header in front of the net went high and off the fingertips ofWilliams. However, Williams was unable to get to the ball before ittrickled across the line.

“Everybody out there compliments each other,” UK coach Warren Lipka said.”Our motto this year is put the team ahead of yourself and that’s what ishappening. Everybody is playing for each other and playing as a unit. Wejust want to continue to get better and better everytime we step on thefield.”

UK returns to action on Friday, Oct. 1, when the Cats travel to Las Vegas,Nev. to play UNLV in the UNLV Rebel Tournament. The match will begin at 10p.m. (EST).
