University of Kentucky Tennis Cat Carolina Mayorga will begin play at the1999 T. Rowe Price National Clay Courts in Baltimore on Tuesday when shetakes on Zoe Mellis of Georgia at 8:30 a.m.

Mayorga, a sophomore from Bogota, Columbia, is entered in the Grand Slam’squalifying draw, and must win three matches to make the tournament’s maindraw.

“Carolina is going to face some tough competition at the Clay Courts,” UKCoach Mark Guilbeau said. “But this will be a good chance for her to finetune her game for the upcoming season.”
