LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team opened the KentuckyInvitational with a win on Friday, topping Navy 2-1.

Lee Baker netted two first-half goals as UK advanced to Sunday’s final.Baker found the net at 18:54 on a penalty kick, and scored again in the26th minute off assists from Michael Stickler and Ilkka Jantti.

Navy’s Michael Paisant spoiled UK keeper Brian O’Leary’s shutout with aheader at 86:38, but Navy’s efforts were too little, too late.

With the win, UK moves to 4-0, while the Midshipmen fall to 2-2-2.

UK advances to face Cal St. Fullerton (5-0), 3-1 winners over Dayton (2-2-1).

Dayton and Navy will face off in Sunday’s consolation match at noon, withUK and Fullerton playing for the championship at 2:30 p.m.
