IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Kentucky men?s golf team finished in 11th place at theHawkeye Intercollegiate with a three round total of 896 after posting a 296 in Sunday?sfinal round. The Wildcats had stood in 13th place after Saturday?s two-rounds,but were able to move up two spots with their best round of the tourney. KentUniversity won the tournament played at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowawith a team score of 859.
UK sophomore Philip Schardein capped his fine two rounds of 147 (75-72) fromSaturday by shooting a 76 and remaining the low man for the Cats with a 223.Senior Ryan Rieckhoff had the team?s low round of 72 on Sunday for athree-round total of 226. The low round of the tourney was a 211 (70-70-71) byKent?s Dustin Risdon.
The Wildcats are not scheduled to compete again until the Legends Invitationalin Franklin, Ind. on Oct. 4-5.
