DURHAM, N.C. – Entering the second round tied for 14th place, the Lady Kats fired a team total of 302 on a rain soaked course at the NCAA East Regional Women’s Golf Championships Friday.The UK squad’s performance is the lowest team total for the Lady Kats during a single round this spring.

Led by Julie Palmer’s second round of 75, the Lady Kats turned in the second lowest team tally on the day before thunderstorms moved in to postpone play.

UK’s Jenny Dugan and Heather Kraus, who entered the round tied for 13th and 18th, respectively, each fired a three-over-par, 76. Katy Loy joined the duo in shooting a 76, while freshman Jenny Throgmorton tied her collegiate-career-low round with her 78.

The second round of the NCAA East Regional Women,s Golf Championships will continue Saturday morning at the Duke Golf Club with the final round scheduled for later that day.
