EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team notched its second straight win as the Wildcats shut out Evansville, 2-0, on Tuesday night.
Freshman midfielder Aimee Brown opened the scoring for the Cats with a goal off an assist from Jen McMaster in the 19th minute. The score remained 1-0 in favor of UK for much of the game, until junior midfielder Brooke Hergesell netted a shot off another McMaster assist at the 87:10 mark, giving the Cats a 2-0 victory.
With the win, Kentucky improved to 5-5-2 overall, 2-2 in the Southeastern Conference. Evansville dropped to 9-4-2. Kentucky resumes SEC play when the Cats travel to Athens, Ga., to face the Bulldogs on Friday.
