OXFORD, Miss. – The 23rd-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis teamcame up short in its bid to upset No. 6 Ole Miss on Saturday, falling 7-2to the Lady Rebels.

The Cats’ two wins came as Massoumeh Emami scored an upset over17th-ranked Celeste Frey, 6-3, 6-2, and Kelly Brown upended 71st-rankedCourtenay Chapman, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.

“The match was a lot closer than the score might indicate,” UK Coach MarkGuilbeau said. “We had some chances to win this match and it just didn’thappen today. But to come down here and play the sixth-ranked team thisclosely is something we can build on.”

The Cats return to the courts on Monday, when they travel to Starkville,Miss., to take on Mississippi State.
