The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will take on Louisvillefor the second time this season at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Louisville’sFreedom Hall.

The Wildcats (11-6, 2-4) defeated Louisville earlier this season, 73-62, inthe first round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii on Nov.26. Before that win, U of L had won the last two meetings versus the Cats.

UK leads the overall series 24-9 and 8-7 when playing in Louisville.

“It is going to be an exciting game,” UK Coach Bernadette Mattox said.”The emotions are going to be high. But that is how it is when you play anin-state game like that.”

The Cats hope to snap their three-game losing streak, having lost toconference foes Ole Miss, LSU and No. 1 Tennessee.

UK will return to Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 24 for the first timein three weeks to face No. 18 Alabama at 2 p.m. The first 300 fans willreceive free mini-balls.
