LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team celebrated its last Southeastern Conference game at home this season with a 71-62 win over Mississippi State on Sunday.

Senior Kim Denkins had a stellar performance netting eight of 10 from the field to lead the Wildcats (12-13, 5-8) with 18 points and seven rebounds. Jaye Barnes and Laura Meadows followed with 17 and 11 points respectively. Guard Tiffany Wait also contributed, dishing out nine assists to tie her career-high.

Kentucky trailed 38-30 at the half but limited its turnovers to only three in the second half to outscored the Lady Bulldogs (12-12, 4-10) 41 to 24. Sharon Thompson led all scorers for Mississippi State with a game-high 25 points. Stacie Farris added 18 points while Evette Porter scored 11.
