LEXINGTON, Kty. — The Lady Kats golf team will compete in the 1999 SEC Championships atOpelika, Ala., this weekend, April 16-18. All 12 teams will compete in the54-hole tournament at the Grand National Lakes Course, a par-72, 5,924-yardtrack.

Kentucky will tee off with Arkansas and Vanderbilt beginning at 8 a.m.Friday morning. The top five golfers from each team will participate formedallist honors.

At last year’s tournament, Kentucky finished 11th while Georgia capturedthe title. Junior Jenny Dugan tied for 24th place and sophomore JennyThrogmorton finished 59th. UK’s highest finish at the SEC Championshipswas second in 1986.

This is UK’s final scheduled tournament. The Lady Kats will compete atthe NCAA East Regionals in Columbia, S.C., if any individual or the teamqualifies for competition at the SEC Tournament.
