LEXINGTON, Ky. The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will play host to Vanderbilt on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum for its lasthome game until Jan. 24.
The Wildcats (10-3, 1-1) look for their first win over Vanderbilt (7-6,1-1) in eight years when the two teams meet for the 25th time. Kentuckyhas not defeated Vandy since winning 80-63 on Jan. 20, 1991 in MemorialColiseum. VU stretched its winning streak versus Kentucky to nine lastseason, defeating UK, 64-54, in Nashville. Vanderbilt holds a 13-11 edgein the overall record, but are 4-6 when playing in Lexington.
Like the Cats, the Commodores also hold a 1-1 record in the SoutheasternConference. Vanderbilt, currently ranked eighth in the SEC, dropped toMississippi State in its first conference matchup on Dec. 6 (71-66) butdefeated Ole Miss (77-58) on Sunday.
