The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will open their seasons on Friday, Oct. 23, when the Wildcats battle SEC-rival Tennessee at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the UK campus.

The Cats are coming off an impressive 1997-98 campaign that saw both teams finish in the top 25 at the NCAA Championships. UK returns seven All-Americans for the 1998-99 season and hopes to make a big splash this season.

“I really think these guys can rewrite our record books,” said Gary Conelly, who enters his eighth year as UK head coach. The dual meet is set to start at 4 p.m.
