LEXINGTON, Ky.- The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will try to extend its current winning streak against Vanderbilt at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the UK Soccer Complex.
The Wildcats (8-5-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) are coming off a 1-0 shutout victory over LSU in Baton Rouge on Friday night. UK’s Brooke Hergesell scored the only goal of the game when she netted a 15-yard shot in the first half.
Eighth-ranked Vanderbilt (11-4, 5-2 SEC) is coming off a 4-1 win at Arkansas on Friday night. Junior Laura Koerner leads the ‘Dores with 13 goals on the season, while sophomore Austa Helgadottir has nine goals and 13 assists.
The Commodores are tied with Kentucky at the No. 2 spot in the East Division of the SEC.
Sunday is Senior Day at the UK Soccer Complex. UK will honor Kate Erdei, Carrie Kuhnell, Ellen Lord and Carrie Staber in a pre-game ceremony at its last home game of the season.
Sunday is Family Day. Any family of four or more will receive admission for $10. In addition, any fan who brings a ticket stub from the Kentucky/Georgia football game will receive $1 admission. UK students get in free with a UKID, and the first 50 students will receive free UK Soccer T-shirts.
