CLEMSON, S.C. – Freshman Stacy Roeck scored in the first overtime period to lead Wake Forest to a 3-2 overtime win over Kentucky in the first round of the ACC-SEC Challenge in Clemson, SC, on Friday afternoon.

With the win, Wake Forest improves to 6-3-1 on the season while Kentucky falls to 3-4-2.

Amy Brown opened the scoring for the Wildcats at the 10:19 mark on an unassisted goal, but Wake Forest junior Anne Shropshire scored goals at the 36:43 mark and again at 55:41 to give the Demon Deacons a 2-1 lead.

Kentucky’s Carrie Stabler evened the score at 2-2 at 59:56.

Roeck scored the sudden-death overtime goal just 6:04 into the extra period off an assist from freshman Sarah Kate Noftsinger.

Wake Forest dominated play throughout the game, outshooting Kentucky 20-5. The Demon Deacons will face LSU on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the final round of the two-day event.
