LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three University of Kentucky women’s basketball players were named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, Commissioner Roy Kramer announced on Tuesday.

For the third straight season, junior guard Tiffany Wait joined the SEC’sAcademic Honor Roll. Wait, who has already completed her undergraduaterequirements, is completing her first year at UK’s School of Pharmacy andholds a 3.03 grade-point average. She is the Cats’ leading scorer thisseason, averaging 13.7 points per game. In addition, Wait was also namedto the SEC’s inaugural women’s basketball “Good Works Team” whichhighlights a member from each school who gives back to their community.Wait has been involved with the “Big Buddy Program” at Booker T. WashingtonElementary and also has participated as a celebrity grocery bagger to raisemoney for the American Breast Cancer Society.

Junior Katie Vieth was named to the academic honor roll for the first timein her three-year career with a GPA of 3.35 in art studio. Vieth, a 6-3center, averages 3.0 points and 1.7 rebounds. Also a first-time honor rollmember is sophomore Laura Meadows. The 6-2 forward is a psychology majorwith a 3.20 GPA. She is currently UK’s second leading scorer (11.9 ppg)and rebounder (6.0 rpg) and has started in every game as a Wildcat.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a 3.0grade-point average for either the past year or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 orhigher for their career. He or she must be a sophomore or higher in termsof academic classification and have 24 semester or 36 quarter hours towarda degree.
