BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-University of Kentucky men’s tennis player Carlos Drada won the singles championship over Indiana’s Gabriel Montilla 6-7, 6-2, 6-3, Sunday.

Drada, ranked 51st in the nation, defeated two individuals in the No. 1 spot during the tournament. His competition included Clemson’s Bruce Li 6-7, 6-0, 6-3 on Friday and Indiana’s Scott Lippett 6-1, 6-0 on Saturday. Other final day UK victories included senior Dan Spaner and junior Patrik Johansson in straight set matches.

The 11th-ranked Wildcats will see action next Wednesday, Feb. 11 when they travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete against Notre Dame.
