LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s basketball team won its second straight game in three days, defeating in-state rival Eastern Kentucky 76-60, on the last home game of the season in Memorial Coliseum. Despite trailing by one at halftime 35-34, Kentucky came out in the second half to outscore the Lady Colonels (18-6, 14-2 Ohio Valley Conference) 42-25. UK held Eastern scoreless for over six minutes as guard Tiffany Wait netted 16 of her 20 points in the second half to put UK ahead 58-47. Forward Jaye Barnes led the Wildcats in scoring with 21 points, hitting 8 of 13 from the floor while grabbing nine rebounds. Wait hit 10 of 12 from the free throw line as the Wildcats netted a total of 22 of 30 free throws (73.3 percent). Freshman Laura Meadows and senior Kim Denkins also scored in double figures with 15 and 12 points respectively.
