MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – University of Kentucky freshman Johan Grunditz won the Flight One singles title at the Middle Tennessee State University Fall Tennis Classic this past weekend.

Grunditz, who hails from Hallstahammar, Sweden, won the championship by defeating No. 1-seeded Eddie Coates of Vanderbilt, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, in the finals.

UK plays host to the first annual Charles Fluitt Collegiate Tennis Classic this weekend at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center in Lexington, Ky. Play begins Friday, Oct. 2, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 4. Visiting schools include Harvard, Illinois, Tennessee and Minnesota.
