University of Kentucky men’s tennis senior Cedric Kauffmann is fourth-ranked in the nation according to the Rolex Collegiate Tennis Singles Rankings released Tuesday.
Kauffmann has remained in the Top-10 for his entire senior season. In addition, Kauffmann has been chosen to the 1998 SEC First-Team All-SEC. This is the third time he has earned first-team honors. His overall season record is 32-14 with an 8-3 record over SEC opponents. The UK men’s tennis team is 17th in the nation according to the same rankings. The Wildcats finished their regular season with a 16-10, 4-7 (SEC) record.
The UK women’s tennis team is currently ranked 24th in the nation.
UK To Serve As Host To Men’s Tennis NCAA Regionals
The NCAA Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet has approved the University of Kentucky to serve as host to the Region III Tournament of the 1998 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Tennis Championships, May 14-16. The competition will take place at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center. The teams selected by the Region III committee to compete in the NCAA Regionals will be released the first week in May.
