LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team won its third straight match as they swept Louisville 9-0 on Sunday. The 24th-ranked Wildcats (11-5, 4-5 SEC) dropped only one set in singles competition. Massoumeh Emami defeated Nadia Karpol 7-6, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles draw, and Kathy Herring beat Angie Schneider 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot. In No. 2 singles, Kelly Brown rallied from one set down to win over Manisha Patel 0-6, 6-3, 6-4. UK’s 24th-ranked doubles team of Emami and Brown won their third straight match, defeating Patel and Kelly M. Miller, 8-3. Christy Sigurski and Brooke Skeen won at No. 2 doubles, 8-3, over Louisville’s team of Karpol and Kelly Ford. With the loss, Louisville drops to 11-4 on the season.
