LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will try to bounce back from two straight defeats when it hosts Ohio State on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
The Wildcats (2-2, 0-2 SEC) fell to No. 1-ranked Florida 7-1 on Feb. 14. UK’s win came when Christy Sigurski and Brooke Skeen defeated Florida’s Whitney Laiho and Bonnie Bleecker 9-8 (3). UK’s Kathy Herring brings a 3-1 record at No. 2 singles into the match, and the No. 49-ranked doubles team of Massoumeh Emami and Kelly Brown is 3-1 so far this season.
Ohio State (4-2) is led by freshman Kristy Dascoli, who remains undefeated so far this season with a 6-0 record. The Buckeyes defeated Boston College 8-1 on Feb. 14.
