LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UK baseball team (7-15, 2-7 SEC) will take a break from conferenceaction to play the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in Richmond, Ky., Tuesday,March 30, at 3 p.m. and the Xavier Musketeers in Cincinnati, Ohio, onWednesday, March 31, at 3 p.m.

Kentucky lost two-of-three games to Mississippi State in SoutheasternConference play this weekend, but beat the Bulldogs, 12-6, last Friday.

Tuesday’s game marks the 83rd meeting between intrastate rivals UK andEKU. UK leads the series 58-23-1. Kentucky coach Keith Madison holds a21-9-1 lifetime record against Eastern Kentucky. The Wildcats defeated theColonels in last season’s meeting, 8-7.

Kentucky will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday to face theMusketeers of Xavier at 3 p.m. Xavier beat UK last season, 11-5, butKentucky leads the series, 19-8-1.

The Wildcats’ bats came alive in last weekend’s series against MississippiState. Two Kentucky hitters enter midweek competition with hitting streaks.Sophomore John Wilson has reached base safely in ten consecutive games andfreshman Kyle Hooker has a six-game hitting streak intact.
