The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will play host to the Mississippi All-Stars on Friday, Nov., 13 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum in its final exhibition game of the season.
The Wildcats, who defeated Slovakia 79-45 on Sunday, Nov. 1, look to capture their second win when they take on the Mississippi All-Stars. The All-Star group consists of former collegiate players from a variety of universities such as Xavier, New Orleans, Southern Mississippi, Miami and Jackson State.
“This group of players are very athletic and talented,” Coach Bernadette Mattox said. “They are former college players who know what it takes to compete at this level. I think it will be a good test for our team.”
The Wildcats open their regular season when they play host to Ohio Valley Conference opponent Austin Peay on Sunday, Nov., 15 at 2 p.m. The day has been deemed “Sell-Out Sunday”. The first 1,000 fans will receive posters and 500 t-shirts will be given away. One person also will win two free plane tickets to anywhere in the continental United States in a random drawing.
