LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 25th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team fell to the ninth-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores 7-2 on Saturday. The Wildcats (13-6, 4-6 Southeastern Conference) picked up their only singles victory when No. 3 Kathy Herring defeated Kristen Radford 7-5, 7-5.

UK’s 22nd-ranked doubles team of Massoumeh Emami and Kelly Brown also won, beating the 19th-ranked Vanderbilt duo of Julie Ditty and Kristy Blumberg 8-2. The loss broke UK’s five-match winning streak. Vanderbilt improved to 18-6 overall, 9-2 in the SEC.

The Cats play host to South Carolina Sunday at 11 a.m. in the final regular season match of the season. The Wildcat men will also be in action as they face second-ranked LSU at 1 p.m.
